San Vigilio di Marebbe

San Vigilio di Marebbe, Italy is an enchanting village in Val Badia and is one of the most renowned tourist destinations in Trentino South Tyrol. The village is part of the Plan de Corones holiday region and is immersed in the Fanes Nature Park. San Vigilio di Marebbe has developed around its parish church which has embraced the inhabitants of the area since the distant 13th century. The place of worship with its baroque facade and the belfry in its gothic style rises close to the statue of Catarina Lanz, the Joan of Arc of Tyrol. In this small village centre in Val Badia, in addition to the enchanting noble residences such as La Gran Ciasa or Ras Castle, you can also admire the “Viles”, the typical Ladin houses.

There is no shortage of ski slopes at San Vigilio di Marebbe! Actually, the village is located within the Plan de Corones ski resort: more than 100 km of slopes, 200 snow machines and 35 snowcats prepare the slopes for the following day. San Vigilio di Marebbe is part of the Dolomiti Superski carousel so with just one ski-pass you can ski on more than 1,200 km of downhill slopes and 1,100 km of cross-country tracks.

Would you prefer a skiing resort which is a little more secluded? Not a problem! You’ll also find a few slopes a stone’s throw away from San Vigilio di Marebbe where you can enjoy yourself. On the Miara or Erta slopes, or on the Pedagà slope, snowboarders can try jumps and turns at the playground. If physical exercise doesn’t frighten you and you are looking for even closer contact to nature, try the 24 km of cross-country tracks, the winter hiking offers, snow-shoe hikes and ski tours.

And when the sport has finished, there are still plenty of other things to enjoy yourself! If you are looking for an adventurous afternoon you can choose from one of the sledge routes or have an ice-skating race on the natural rink in the village centre of San Vigilio di Marebbe. And in the evening? The classic Après Ski awaits you for an evening in the company of friends. Don’t miss out on the opportunity of a holiday that combines relaxation and sport a stone’s throw from Plan de Corones.
