Dear Visitor,
excellent choice today to take the opportunity of visiting Venice from a different perspective, from the Gran Canal, the main waterway of Venice. It has the appearance of a reverse “S” of 3 kms long and connects the Saint Mark’s Basin with Santa Lucia Railway station and Piazzale Roma. Along its banks it’s a succession of palaces, churches, hotels, and other public buildings in Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance. Famous palaces like Palazzo Barbarigo, Ca’ Rezzonico, Cà da Mosto, Ca’ d’Oro, Palazzo Pesaro … “Cà” in Venetian language is the abbreviation of “casa” mainly used for the homes of the nobles.
